What does a Baliston Health gait assessment measure?
Each assessment includes 30+ biomechanical parameters, depending on the selected analysis. The platform supports Walk, Run, Jump and Neuro analyses. AI Mov-Scan captures motion; it does not directly measure plantar pressure.
How accurate is the gait analysis?
Peer-reviewed research reports 95% concordance with optical motion capture for the validated metrics and protocols. This is not a universal accuracy figure for every platform output. See our Science and Research page for the validation evidence.
How is Baliston Health different from a motion-capture gait lab?
Baliston uses an insole equipped with AI Mov-Scan to capture movement in the patient's own footwear. The platform provides supported movement parameters and a Full Clinical Report for practitioner review. It is not a replacement for every measurement or protocol available in a motion-capture laboratory.
How is it different from a pressure plate or force plate?
Baliston uses in-shoe motion sensors to capture movement. It does not directly measure plantar pressure. Choose assessment tools according to the clinical question and the measurements required.
How is it different from a consumer wearable or step counter?
Baliston Health is designed for practitioner-led movement assessment. It provides supported biomechanical parameters, analysis comparisons and the Full Clinical Report, with Balia available to explain findings. Clinical interpretation remains the practitioner's responsibility.
